Q: How old do you have to be to join VME as a cadet?
A: Both boys and girls ages 12-18 can join.

Q: I want to go to West Point. Can VME help me get into a military Academy?
A: Yes, One of our sponsors, Lieutenant Colonel Patrick O'Doul, US Army Reserves, is the Region Commander Southern California, for the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. He has assisted in the application and entry process for some of our fine cadets.

Q: I am not sure what branch of the military I am most interested. How does VME help?
A: VME will give you exposure to all branches of the military, through classes, guest speakers and activities.

Q: Can I participate in VME before I decide if it is for me?
A: Yes, we require anyone who is interested to attend at least three meetings before they can join.

Q: How does VME serve the community?
A: The VME's award winning color guard presents and posts the Colors for memorial sevices and special community events. Some annual events invite the VME for assistance and participation. The Air Shows have cadets lead flag ceremonies, run food and drink stands and manage traffic control. Most service events include some fun and learning for the cadets.
